So There We Were: River Running in the Hudson Gorge
By Jeff Dickson
"So there I was" as any good guide story starts out and in this book there are plenty of them! For almost 200 years people have been running through the Hudson River Gorge and exploring the Upper Hudson region. This book tells the story of these people, the first explorers in the area, the loggers who first ran the gorge, and the recreational boaters and rafters who have continued the tradition. But it is more than that! It is also the beginning of a conversation about the fascinating history of a part of a famous river that is often unknown, untold and passed by. So there we were!
