By Tony Holtzman
When NY Assemblyman Cyrus Carter votes for 'Forever Wild' legislation the lumber companies attempt blackmail to prevent his reelection. John, Mary Carter's oldest son, returns to the Adirondacks and is hired by J. J. Schuyler, a wealthy New York Banker, to head the construction of a great cam on Upper Saranac Lake. Schuyler's daughter, Ophelia, seduces John. Instigated by his paraplegic brother, Tommy, John and a few friends take the law into their own hands after Schuyler forbids them from hunting and fishing on his land. Their plot ends tragically.
